I would like to say that I'm terribly excited to see that someone has finally dedicated a blog to pencil tests. It will become an immense reference to anyone of the animation industry.
It's wonderful that you found the rough of this scene! Ken's innate ability to portray subtle changes of emotion are amazing. He makes it look so easy!

Great stuff! Any chance you could use something other than blogger's embedded player? As an animation student, it's super helpful to be able to scrub through these frame by frame. Quicktime would be ideal. Just a suggestion.

Gorgeous graphite without the distraction of color or sound effects or music, this is pure drawing, pure movement. Stunning, thrilling, magic.
And we love Ken Duncan’s work. This scene has terrific acting. So does his lovely Captain Amelia in TREASURE PLANET. Can we have a sample of that please?

Great stuff...thanks for creating this site and posting these wonderful videos. The work these talented artists produce is pure magic and sheer genius, and I admire it so much. I would do anything to possess that kind of talent. I love watching pencil tests more than the completed film itself!
