James Baxter dontation: Enchanted

Here is another donation from Enchanted. This is a truly amazing piece of work. There are so many of layers of animation happening in this test, it takes many many many views to see everything that is being worked out. What I really love about this piece is the care that goes into building the character, adding the clothing, the hair, the extra bits of clothing that hang from the main part of the dress and the way everything is strongly driven by the way the character is moving down the stairs. Being able to see the construction through the dress is a real treat for me. Enjoy this masterful work as I did.

Carlos Zapater: Animation Reel

video

Found another great Spanish animator. Carlos Zapater posted his reel on Youtube and he has a lot of solid work presented. I am hoping some of the animators that have worked on these projects from Spain and France chime in and donate some more works.. fantastic..

Pencil Test Depot (quicktime requests)

I have noticed that many people have asked for the clips to be placed in quicktime format. In an effort to respect my colleagues and the animators on the site, I would want to leave the mass distribution of work up to the people who have created the animation. Some of these clips are on Youtube as well as other sites, so they are able to be viewed there for frame by framing. I want everyone to understand that I know that you want to study the work bit by bit, but I think if I make the files downloadable without the consent of the artists, the depot will lose a lot of potential donations as well as respect. I think the community has been supportive because the work is not being passed out widely over the net. WHAT I WILL DO IS...I will ask for downloadable donations from the artists that I know and this will give us the best of both worlds! Lets keep our fingers crossed that this will come to light. If so I will set up an ftp where you can grab the clips easily. I appreciate the donations and we will continue to show the respect and appreciation for the animators that are posted on this site. I hope that everyone understands and can continue to enjoy the work here.

I appreciate everyone who visits the site and I will do my best to make it as enjoyable as I can.

Bruce Smith & Team: Pacha from Emperors New Groove

video

I had a few moments to re read the emails (between unpacking) and view the links people I have sent. I have replied to them all but I cant figure out why they are getting kicked back. Anyway one link was this collection of Pacha animation. Bruce Smith was the supervising animator of Pacha so I am sure this a collection of his work and the guys/gals who worked with him. Bruce is definitely one of my favorite animators and one of the reasons why I am still animating to this day. I was hoping to gets some clearer versions of is work, but this is a great start. Thanks again for the donation!

oh and thank you guys for the support.
