These are greeat! I just saw the Bedtime story animation last week at a lecture Deja gave.. soo wonderful.. the guy is a serious force of nature with a pencil!

I'm glad I got to see these scenes, and I'm glad they got cut. Sanders and DeBlois allowed the situation between the two title characters and Nani to build and collide just right, and this required slower initial pacing than previous Disney films of the renaissance. With that in mind, it was a smart polishing job to leave these moments out.

I love this site, I love the work. It is good for my drawing soul. Thanks.

While not a particularly good film, this is nice animation. Deja's never been known for his acting ability (he's a fair mimic), but these scenes come close to proving that notion wrong. Nice.

I'm looking forward to Writer/Director Dean DuBlois' and co-director Kris Sanders new film.

The thing I think works in the movie is the pacing for the sister scene. I like that the story in this pencil test is Lilo relating the toaster to herself, but the one in the movie, in my opinion, felt like exactly what a little girl who was just overwhelmed with emotions would do..And the feeling of wanting that reassurance that her sister still loves her seemed dead on... like you said though, both are good! Yeah the scream is fantastic.

I've view the scene from the movie and the pencil test, and its hard to say which scene is better. I think the story about the stinky bear helps the mood of the scene a little better. But the dialog in the movie caters to the flow of the movie. The key animated parts that capture the mood of the scene are still used. At the end of the day, the animation done is incredible! And the 2 of them screaming into the pillows was a great call by the director or whoever thought of it!

I can't actually remember the scene they went with in the film, but this one made my eyes water...

Both scenes were amazing, and it must have been heartbreaking to the animators having them cut!
